+ KDF 55 filtration media uses a high-purity copper-zinc alloy to reduce chlorine, heavy metals (such as lead, mercury, and iron), and inhibit the growth of bacteria, algae, and microorganisms within the filtration system. Through a natural oxidation-reduction (redox) process, KDF 55 helps control scale formation, reduces corrosion in plumbing, and significantly extends the life of carbon media and water softeners when used in combination systems. This results in cleaner, better-tasting water, improved system efficiency, reduced maintenance, and enhanced protection for plumbing fixtures and appliances—making KDF 55 an ideal addition for whole-home filtration, especially in challenging water conditions.
